Scheduling ease

Flexible scheduling is important with small children. We want the session to go smoothly, so let us know when the best time for your little ones is and we’ll work with you. Vakker would love to have the opportunity to create beautiful portraits of your children for your whole family to treasure all through their lives. Our wonderful childrens’ photographer, Melissa, has many years experience and specializes in photographing small children.

We understand that as parents, your schedules are very busy and therefore we offer flexible appointment times to accommodate you and your child’s needs. We always schedule plenty of time for your appointment. This allows for your child to adjust to their new surroundings and enjoy their experience. Also, due to the fact that we work on an appointment only basis, there is usually little to no wait for your child to be photographed.

Portrait style planning

Our beautiful outdoor studio is one of a kind. You’ll find a wonderful variety of settings right here, including a sandy beach, rock garden and a beautiful wrought iron gate. Indoors, the look is classic, with an emphasis on beautiful handpainted portrait backgrounds and props that are wonderful for children. Our goal is to capture the variety of expressions that childhood offers and concentrate on creating a great portrait of your child. We can create any style of portrait that you would like, from a timeless formal and classic look to a contemporary fun and casual one.

If you have a particular idea in mind, we would love to work to create it. Vakker uses few props so we can focus on your child, however, if there is something that is special to your child or if you want to bring something in, please let our photographer know what you had in mind. You may also choose to have your child’s portrait done in black and white or sepia (brown tones), hand tinted or printed on watercolor paper to give it a unique classic appeal: the possibilities are endless. Please let us know at the session if you are interested in any of these options.

The children’s portrait session

You and your child(ren) will have lots of fun! We’ll schedule plenty of time for your session so there’ll be no need to rush, but we won’t draw out the session either. Little ones’ attention spans can be short and our timing must be good to get the very best expressions. Our photographers will be sensitive to your child’s mood and needs to create a wonderful portrait you’ll cherish.

Viewing your images & placing your order

One week after your sitting, you will be able to view your child’s images via digital projection which is a great new way to see your images. This allows you to compare images side by side, zoom in and look closely at expressions and other details as well as seeing the images in black and white. Our portrait consultants present a slide show of your image set to music so you can relax and enjoy that moment in your child’s life. You will want to have everyone at this appointment who is involved in choosing the images you would like to order from.

There are several options for you to choose from when ordering your child’s portraits. You may choose to order ala carte or buy packages. There are no minimum order requirements and we will help you find the best value for your needs even if substitutions are necessary within packages. Your finished portraits will be ready approximately four weeks from placing your order and we will give you a call to let you know as soon as they are ready.
