You’ll feel prepared and comfortable. When you book your appointment we’ll send you a packet of information that tells you everything you need to know about getting ready for your session. It includes a map and directions to the studio. What kinds of clothes to bring. What to do about hair, makeup, glasses. What to do if it rains, etc., etc. All this preparation means you’ll be better prepared and feel more comfortable. And, if you feel better, your portraits will be better.

Your portrait session will be lots of fun. You won’t be rushed and you’ll have time to get really comfortable, so your expressions will be natural, and you’ll look terrific. You’ll get lots of personal attention, several changes of clothing, a great variety of indoor and outdoor settings with great new looks every year, makeup artist services, and more. Plus, for the summer months - cool, comfortable air conditioning throughout the studio!

Your portraits will be creative and flattering. Our photographers are incredibly good! All of our photographers have professional photography degrees and wonderful artistic sense. Combining this with our gorgeous indoor and outdoor studio settings and our personal attention to you as an individual guarantees you’ll look amazing in your portraits.

Our beautiful outdoor studio is one-of-a-kind, unmatched by any other studio. You’ll find a wonderful variety of outdoor settings right here at our studio, including a sandy beach, a field of tall golden grass, flower-covered trellises, a little pond with cattails, a beautiful ornamental iron gate, and much more.

Indoors, the look is classy and uncluttered with an emphasis on complementing you and the colors of your clothing with the subtlety of hand painted backgrounds and a beautiful play of light and shadow. We also have an extensive array of traditional and contemporary furniture for interesting and comfortable arrangements.

Our terrific makeup artist will carefully enhance your look, from simply toning down a shiny nose to a complete makeup application. This is not intended as a makeover and we always keep you looking like yourself!

Before you ever enter a camera room, your photographer will sit down and talk with you to find out what’s really important to you. You won’t be rushed and you’ll have time to get really comfortable, so your expressions will be natural and you’ll look terrific.

Clothing and personalization. Bring your favorite and most flattering clothes. We’ll put together backgrounds and props to suit whatever colors or style you bring. Feel free to personalize with anything – pets, posters, friends, sports gear, car, etc.

For a really special look, have some of your portraits made in black and white, browntoned or as watercolor prints. Or, choose to go out on location to be photographed by the lake, with your horse, or at your home.

Vakker Portraits is a family-owned and family-run business. The owners, Randy and Melinda Dellinger, have been studio owners in the portrait photography business since 1977. They are dedicated, hands-on owners, working hard every day to make Vakker Portraits the best studio it can be for you and your family to enjoy.

The staff and owners of Vakker Portraits have created the only studio in this area to offer it all! We are the only studio with an on-staff makeup artist available to help you and an incredible outdoor studio with dozens of background settings and our own complete custom lab and state of the art digital retouching services right on the premises.

One of the fun things about your senior portraits is designing your own unique items at your preview and ordering appointments. Together we can create beautiful coffee table books, albums, and multiple image wall collections as well as traditionally framed portraiture. The possibilities are endless!

In addition, new for the class of 2010, we're introducing several special effects & options - a glamorous extreme airbrushed look, a cool look that resembles the way movies such as 300 and Twighlight are filmed, and even a fun snow effect great for images featuring your favorite snow sport.

Portrait orders vary greatly due to different needs based on personal desires, family, friends, and budget. Here at Vakker we recognize this and have designed our packages and pricing structure to accomodate your needs. We have no minimum order requirements, photographs are available a la carte, or in simple, small packages, or as all-inclusive packages with wall portraits, gift print, wallets, and specialty items. We even offer choices within the packages to further customize your order. We want you to be able to get exactly what you want.

Choosing and ordering your portraits is easy. Packages start around $300. Most people will spend between 300 and 800, depending on individual wants and needs. Some will spend less and some will spend more. Our portrait consultants are very good at helping you get what you like at a price that works with your budget, big or small.
